Insulate the Attic A lot of heat and cool air escape through the attic. That effects energy costs all year around. Adding more or better insulation makes a significant difference in keeping utility bills under control. For two or three thousand dollars, insulation can be rolled or blown into the attic. Some homeowners save as much as thirty percent off energy costs for the year. Have Carpeting Installed Padding and carpeting in most rooms will improve both costs and comfort. Adding a few layers of insulation between the floor and feet will keep the family warmer
